Experience the adrenaline rush of a Motorcycle track Day!
You’ll be in the pit area of the “Lightning” racetrack at the New Jersey Motorsports Park (about 1 hour and 20 minutes from Church of the Saviour). Get close to approximately one hundred sport bikes, several of them racing and track modified. Several vantage points are available from the infield to watch riders touch their knee to the pavement at speeds in excess of 100 mph. Some professional riders may be on the track practicing. Hear the engines wind out to RPM’s almost twice that of NASCAR!
Meet at Maurice DeLisle’s pit, Silver Jeep Grand Cherokee and enclosed trailer, Red Sport Bike #21 (keep in mind the bike will be out on the track 20 minutes of every hour from 9:40 a.m., excluding lunch). Admission is free to guests. We’ll barbecue hamburgers for lunch, please RSVP for a headcount for food needed. All our welcome to sit on the sport bike, rev the motor, and operate the controls. The bike sits on a rear stand keeping the back tire off the ground. This is a perfect event for Fathers to bring their sons to. You and your boys are also welcome to attend the riders meeting, hear the rules of the track, learn what the flags mean, and how the track is managed. Get there early if there’s interest in seeing tech inspections (All riders bikes must pass tech inspection before being allowed to go on the track).
Simply go to the main entrance of the New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP.com) and tell them you are a guest for the motor cycle track day at the Lighting track (Do not go to the Thunderbolt track). You may come for any portion of the day. As an outreach, we will provide cold Gatorade/Powerade/Sports Drinks/Bottled Water to riders. 98% will be men, fluids will be important as the day goes on and riders get tired.
