College Ministry Director/Pastor

  • Do you love the adventure of college-age ministry?
  • Does seeing Jesus transform and deepen relationships with Him excite you at your core?
  • Do you understand the strategic impact that can be made during these years (e.g., many decide their master, mate, and mission)?
  • Would you like to lead life-changing short-term mission trips?
  • Are you wired by God to lead, recruit, develop, and implement a team-based college ministry in the context of a local church?

The college years are a special time of development often marked by a search for answers to life’s most significant questions. Church of the Saviour is a nondenominational Christ-centered church in the Philadelphia suburb of Wayne, Pennsylvania. We are in the extraordinary position of having 10k+ college students right in our backyard and we are looking for someone who is eager to minister in our ever-diversifying suburban context. If you have a calling to minister the truth of the gospel to college students in a time when they are hearing so many conflicting and destructive messages about the meaning and purpose for their lives, let’s explore a possible ministry relationship.
Some of the Universities and Colleges nearby include Villanova University, Eastern University, Cabrini University, Valley Forge Military Academy, Bryn Mawr College, Delaware County Community College, Penn State Great Valley, Haverford College.

Our College Ministry Director/Pastor will provide leadership to a team that ministers to college students by reflecting personally, and expressing relationally, God’s love in a dynamic, caring, Bible-based college ministry setting. As the College Ministry Team (CMT) leader, you will also work closely with our family ministry, student ministry, and other staff to create a welcoming environment where those who are college age will flourish spiritually. Because of the significant ministry opportunities to international college students, you will work in partnership with our Global Outreach Director, to design and implement strategies to integrate “to the nations” into the student discipleship process. You will shepherd and oversee the College Ministry Team, student leaders, and students involved in the ministry.

Worship Ministry Associate

  • Does worship mean more, but not less, than just the musical element in a service?
  • Do you have a heart for integrating time-tested and newer forms of musical expression in an intentionally collaborative setting?
  • Do you long to develop multiplying disciples of Jesus both musically and spiritually?
  • Are you a person who has a record of recruiting and developing people in the musical area of worship?
  • Are you able to draw out excellence through both grace and strength simultaneously?

If so, you may be the person we’ve been praying for as we move into our next season of ministry!

Church of the Saviour (COS) is a non-denominational Christ-centered church of approximately 1,000 people in the Philadelphia suburb of Wayne, Pennsylvania. Our mission is to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ in Wayne and beyond. We depend on the Holy Spirit to enable and empower us to fulfill God’s plan for our lives and our church. We are certain that Christ is supreme in all things, and we know we are most fully alive and fulfilled when we are most fully glorifying Him.

Church of the Saviour currently conducts two services each Sunday. The 9:00 service is traditional, choir and orchestra led. The 10:30 is a modern format led by a band. A key role of the incoming Worship Ministry Associate will be that of evaluating our current traditional worship services and, along with the Pastor of Worship Arts, creating and executing a vision for the future of worship at COS. The church is committed to creating a relevant, spiritually vibrant worship experience for a diverse congregation. We desire to see every individual grow deeper in their relationship with Christ through the worship experience.
